What to expect when
planning a funeral

We realise that financial worries can be an unnecessary strain, especially at a time of such grief. Whilst every funeral is different, we can keep you informed of the funeral costs by offering you a quote with no hidden charges whatsoever.

The following disbursements are standard charges all funeral directors must make. Some of these costs are not controlled by us, but we do include these charges in your quote to give you a better understanding of the total cost.

  • Doctors’ fees – All cremations require two certificates (forms 4 & 5) to be signed by two different doctors. If the death has been referred to the coroner, cremation certificates are not needed.
  • Help with funeral costs – It may be possible to receive financial help from the Department of Work and Pensions. This situation will only arise if the estate does not completely cover the cost of the funeral and/or the funeral organiser cannot afford the costs. Certain qualifications apply.
  • Crematorium/cemetery fees
  • Church/minister fees
